Three Tufted Roman Geese, Four Buff Ducks, and a dozen feather-footed mystery chicks are in the brooder. Spring has officially arrived at Little Creek Farm!

File Under: birds of a feather
Please tell where you got a mixed box of chicks and fowl.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!
Liz,
ReplyDeleteI ordered from Ideal Poultry. They let you order small batches for a fee - it was $7 and then they throw in some baby chicks to keep things warm. Last year they gave me a few extra ducks. It must be "luck of the draw". I'm sure most, if not all of the chicks are cockerels, so they will end up "in the freezer" But I've been lucky with a few pullets in the past as well.
Oooooh, I can't wait until ours come! Your fuzzy yellow babies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteOH SO CUTE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally wish I could have some chickens here. But then again, I got squeamish today at my first worm encounter, so maybe not.
Awwww. Now my son wants to know why we don't have ducks and geese too...
ReplyDeleteDucks and geese are cute, but they are quite messy. I'm glad I limited this years addition to 2 geese and 4 ducks (one little gosling didn't make it through the first day...)
ReplyDeleteVery cute---but aren't they all??
ReplyDeleteMonica
I second Stew - they really are quite ridiculously cute.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to call one of 'em Homity Pie? ;)
Monica - They are sickeningly cute. The ducks especially.
ReplyDeleteKW - I was saving that name for a goat - but a duck just may need it!
Homity PAAAH!!
