Just when we thought things were getting back to normal around here, one of the black hens shows up with four little chicks. Mother and brood are quite happy in one of the little coops - scratching and pecking, scratching and pecking with a whole lot of clucking going on.

ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when I am gone for two weeks - and I thought I had raised them so well...
I've another broody hen (mamma hen's sister) who is sitting on 9 eggs right now. I'll share more about that later :)
What a wonderful surprise!! And look that concentration! Yes, I know, chickens hardly (ever??) change their expression, but it's fun to imagine!
